Tahoe 200
The Tahoe 200 is a 200.2 mile ultramarathon that circumnavigates Lake Tahoe, which is described as the largest alpine lake in North America. The route uses large sections of the Tahoe Rim Trail and includes many single-track miles, as well as detours through aspen meadows, rock gardens, small high alpine lakes, dense forest canopy, and long ridge lines with extended views.
The course is currently offered as an out and back route. Organizers note that the Forest Service will evaluate a return to the original loop course each fall; that decision depends on ongoing forest mitigation work, with some sections in the Tahoe Basin ready and more remote sections in the Eldorado National Forest still under work.
Course details list total elevation gain of 36,857 feet and total elevation loss of 36,857 feet. The race takes place on National Forest lands and stages from the Heavenly Stagecoach Lodge. Support on course includes eleven full aid stations, three sleep stations, and multiple crew access points. The event uses a 105 hour cutoff.
Dates are listed for upcoming editions in June 2026 and June 2027. The event page also notes a lottery process for entry for future editions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
