The 43rd South Shropshire Circular takes place on 28 February 2026 at Minsterley Village Hall, Station Road, Minsterley, Shrewsbury, SY5 0BE. The event is organised by LDWA - Marches Group. The route is a distance of 25 miles with about 4675 ft of total ascent and a 10 hour time limit. Entries open 1 November 2025 and close 14 February 2026. Entry fees are listed as LDWA member £14.00 and non-member £19.00. The minimum age for participants is 18. There is car parking at the village hall; overnight camping before or after the event is not permitted. Dogs are not allowed on the event.

Route and requirements

The route across South Shropshire countryside is undisclosed until the day of the event and is described in a route description issued at registration. The route is divided into four legs with three serviced checkpoints providing refreshments; the description gives grid references of each checkpoint and an indication of the best line between them. Participants must be able to navigate using OS Explorer Sheet 216 (Welshpool and Montgomery) at 1:25 000.

For safety and compliance, participants must carry or wear all listed items. These include a mug, walking boots or fell running shoes with well-studded soles, complete body and leg covering, windproof and waterproof jacket and over-trousers, a spare inner garment, hat and gloves, a survival bag, emergency food and drink, a torch, basic first aid, compass and whistle, and OS Explorer sheet 216.
