South Shropshire Circular

The 42nd South Shropshire Circular is a challenging 27-mile running event set in the scenic South Shropshire countryside, starting and finishing at Clee Village Hall. Participants will navigate a route that remains undisclosed until the day of the event, featuring 5000 feet of ascent. The event includes four legs with three serviced checkpoints for refreshments, and a time limit of 10 hours.

Registration opens early in the morning, and a hot meal awaits participants upon their return. The event is organized by the LDWA - Marches Group and is designed for experienced runners, with specific equipment requirements for safety. Rodney's Pillar is a provisional 5.2 km race on 17 June 2026 with 280 m of ascent. Entry is by pre-entry or on the day with fees of £7 pre-entry and £10 on-the-day.

A summer trail event on Saturday 20 June 2026 along the Mortimer Trail between Kington and Ludlow, offering an approximately 30 mile multi-terrain ultra and a Croft Half that follows the final section of the route.

A trail 10 km event around the Lake Vyrnwy estate in Llanwddyn featuring mixed terrain, water stations and a finishers medal. Parking is available near the start with a £3 cash charge and minimum age is 16.
