The 43rd South Shropshire Circular is scheduled for Saturday 28 February 2026 and is organised by LDWA - Marches Group. The event starts and finishes at Minsterley Village Hall, Station Road, Minsterley, Shrewsbury, SY5 0BE. Car parking is available at the village hall; overnight camping is not permitted. The event is currently full and new entries are being placed on a waiting list. Entries opened on 1 November 2025 and closed on 14 February 2026. Entry fees are £14.00 for LDWA members and £19.00 for non-members. The minimum age is 18. No dogs are allowed.

Route and format

The route is a 25 mile circular course across south Shropshire with about 4,675 ft of ascent. The exact route is undisclosed until the day of the event. The course is divided into four legs with three serviced checkpoints providing refreshments. There is a 10 hour time limit. Participants must be able to navigate using map and compass; the route description is written to be used with OS Explorer Sheet 216 (Welshpool and Montgomery).

Mandatory equipment and rules

Participants must wear or carry required items and may be disqualified if items are obviously missing. Required items include a mug, walking boots or well-studded event/fell shoes, full body and leg covering, windproof and waterproof jacket and over-trousers, a spare inner garment, hat and gloves, a survival bag, emergency food and drink, a torch, basic first aid, a compass and whistle, and OS Explorer Sheet 216.
