The Piece of Cake Trail Run

The event takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026 in Carding Mill Valley, Church Stretton, Shropshire. Runners choose from three distances that follow routes across the Shropshire Hills and The Long Mynd.

The half marathon is one loop through rugged countryside. Marathon entrants run the same loop twice. The route passes National Trust land and the start and finish are located in Carding Mill Valley near the National Trust tea rooms. Church Stretton town and its train station lie within about a mile of the venue.

The course will be fully waymarked and a GPX file is provided as a backup navigation aid. Runners are expected to carry a rucksack with at least 500 ml of water and a basic first aid kit. The event includes well stocked aid stations on course and medals for finishers. Marshals are present along the route.

Additional on-site arrangements note a parking charge of £6 per vehicle payable at the car park. The event also features a cake competition where attendees may bring bakes to be judged. Trail runs nearby

A multi-distance trail ultra on 2 May 2026 around the Worcestershire Way, with options of 23, 31, 38 or 47 miles. Self-navigation, downloadable GPX and staffed checkpoints support runners while timelord pacers offer route guidance.

Trail race at Carding Mill Valley on 2 May 2026 offering a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a full marathon of two laps. Entries are limited to 200 and a virtual option runs during the week of May 4th.

Sheinton Steeplchase is a provisional 5.3 km cross-country near Cressage on 6 May 2026 with about 100 m of ascent. Entry is on the day for £10 and 2026 will be the last running of the race.

Conquer up to 50 miles and 10000 feet of elevation in the hills of Shropshire. Choose your own path through four unique loops in any order or direction while enjoying a 16 hour buffet at the central race headquarters.
