The Arundel & SDW Winter Trails 2026 is a point-to-point trail run along the South Downs Way. The courses start at Heyshott Village Hall and finish at Arundel Lido, in the town of Arundel near its castle. The event offers two off-road, fully marked distances:

  • Marathon - £52
  • 15 Mile - £40

The courses run along river sections, rolling fields and hills. The marathon route includes a suspension bridge feature before joining the River Arun toward the finish. The 15 mile route leaves the South Downs Way to follow the River Arun into Arundel.

Practical information

Race bibs are collected from BigFeat HQ at Heyshott Village Hall on the morning of the event. A bag drop tent is available at each start and bags will be transported to the finish for collection. Runners must park in the pay & display carpark at Arundel Lido; coach transport to the start can be added to the event entry for an additional fee. Coach transport is offered for an additional £10.

Mandatory kit requirements include carrying at least 500 ml of fluid and wearing or carrying appropriate clothing for winter conditions. A waterproof jacket, gloves and hat are mandatory. Organisers advise downloading the GPX route file to a device. Cut-off times are 7 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the 15 mile event.
