The Shere 42k Multi Terrain Event

The Shere 42k, 21k & 10k Multi Terrain Event

The Shere Multi Terrain Event, organised by Surrey Trek and Run, takes place at Shere Recreation Ground in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The race starts and finishes at the cricket pavilion and offers three mapped trail distances with marked routes and marshals at key points.

• 10k: 123m ascent, woodland and undulating trails, one drink station.
• 21k: 543m elevation, sections of the North Downs and Ranmore, three drink stations.
• 42k: 1300m elevation, passes Leith Hill and Holmbury Hill, six drink stations.

The event is chip timed and provides medals and free buffs for all finishers. Spot prizes and awards are given to race winners. On-site provisions include morning coffee, pastries and post-race food, plus an Event Village attended by brands such as Instinct, La Sportiva, Topo, Leki, VJ Shoes, Ultimate Direction and Knockaround Sunglasses. Free parking is available for runners and spectators.

Entries can be taken on the day (cash only), though medals cannot be guaranteed for late entrants. Fortnightly Sunday morning training runs cover sections of the route in the lead up to the event. GPX files are provided for each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
