The Shere 42k, 21k & 10k Multi Terrain Event
The event takes place on 12 September 2026 at Shere Recreation Ground, Upper Street, Shere, Surrey, GU5 9JF. It is organised by Surrey Trek and Run and is set in the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The race starts and finishes at the cricket pavilion. GPX files for each race are available.
Distances
- 10k - 123 m ascent, woodland and undulating trails, one drink station.
- 21k - 543 m elevation, sections of the North Downs and Ranmore, three drink stations.
- 42k - 1,300 m elevation, passes Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill, Pitch Hill, St Martha’s Hill and Newlands Corner, six drink stations.
Logistics and race features
The event is chip-timed with clearly marked routes and marshals at key points. All finishers receive medals and free buffs. There are spot prizes and awards for race winners. On-course provisions include water stations, morning coffee and pastries, and post-race food. An Event Village will host several outdoor and running brands. Free parking is provided for runners and spectators. Entries are available on the day (cash only); medals cannot be guaranteed for late entries. Training runs will be held fortnightly on Sunday mornings to cover sections of the route.

Early-bird entry prices listed are: 10k £25, 21k £35, 42k individual £45, 42k team of 3 £65. Prices increase on 1 June. Age limits on race day are: 10k 16+, 21k 17+, 42k 18+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
