Vanguard Way Marathon

The Vanguard Way Marathon is a scenic running event held annually in the South of England, featuring both full (26.2 miles/42.2 km) and half marathon (13.1 miles/21.1 km) distances. The course follows part of the Vanguard Way, a 66-mile national trail stretching from East Croydon near London to Newhaven on the South Coast. Runners experience varied and beautiful landscapes including parkland, woodlands, historic houses, nature reserves, and the North Downs with its highest point at 260 meters.
The route includes notable landmarks such as the Nore Hill Chalk Pinnacle, the Greenwich Meridian, and the Greensand Ridge. The event offers a challenging, undulating trail with breathtaking views and is UK Athletics affiliated. Participants receive a medal, mug, buff, and post-race snacks.
