The Vanguard Way national trail is 66 miles (107 km) long and passes through the counties of Surrey, Kent and East Sussex, starting on the southern outskirts of Greater London. The event route includes parkland, woodland and open country, passing Selsdon Wood Nature Reserve, the Nore Hill Chalk Pinnacle, the Greenwich Meridian, and views from the Greensand Ridge near Limpsfield.
