About the race
The North Downs 50 takes place on Sat 31 July 2027 in the North Downs, Surrey, using a Guildford basecamp. The main route is a looped 50 km trail that follows sections of the North Downs Way and local countryside, with notable views to the south and easy access from London.

The event is open to walkers, joggers, and runners and provides on-course support and hospitality. Rest stops are placed roughly every 12.5 km, with major stops at about 25 km and 50 km. Rest stop facilities include covered seating, toilets, medical areas, changing rooms, and baggage pick up.
Food and drink are included at the snack and meal stops: snacks approximately every 12.5 km, a meal about every 25 km, plus hot drinks, water, and energy drinks at all stops. Organisers state they cater for dietary requirements and offer lighter options for runners. A hot finishers meal is provided.
The route is fully signed with dozens of pink arrows and night glow-sticks, and an event app offers GPS tracking and route maps. Timing scans occur at rest stops and progress is monitored centrally. Medical staff, podiatrists, and masseurs are available at stops and on the route. Camping, shuttle transfers, and parking options are offered, and finishers receive a medal, t shirt, photo finish, and a glass of fizz.
