North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge
The North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge is based at Loseley Park near Guildford in Surrey and takes place on Saturday 31 July 2027. The event offers looped trail routes using sections of the North Downs Way and local Surrey Hills paths, with mixed terrain and countryside views.
Available challenge distances:
- 50 km loop : ~830 m elevation
- 25 km loop : ~530 m elevation
- 10 miles loop : ~280 m elevation
Support on the route includes covered rest stops roughly every 12.5 km, major stops at about 25 km and 50 km, food and drink (regular snacks every 12.5 km, meals every 25 km), hot drinks, water and energy drinks, and provisions for dietary requirements. Medical teams, paramedics, podiatrists and massage services are available at rest stops and roaming the course. The route is fully signed with pink arrows and night glow-sticks where needed, and an event app provides Google route maps and GPS tracking. A timing system scans participants at rest stops and logs progress.
Options and services include a Solo Start option, an Ultra March category for walkers (50 km target under 12 hours), an Ultra Trailblazerz category for faster runners, camping packages at the basecamp, shuttle transfers to Guildford train station, parking, extra meals, and on-the-day baggage services.
