The North Downs 50 is a trail run and trekking event taking place on Saturday, 1 August 2026. It starts and finishes at the Guildford basecamp at Loseley Park in Surrey.

Distances and Route

Participants can choose from several distances on a looped course:

  • 50 km with approximately 830 meters of elevation.
  • 25 km with approximately 530 meters of elevation.
  • 10 km with approximately 230 meters of elevation.
  • A ~24 km point-to-point option that finishes near Dorking, with an optional bus transfer back to the start.

The route follows parts of the North Downs Way and takes in the Surrey hills and surrounding countryside.

Participation and Support

Participants can walk, jog, or run. Special categories are available: the Ultra March for walkers aiming to complete 50 km in under 12 hours, and the Ultra Trailblazerz for faster, competitive runners. A "Solo Challenger" start time is offered for individuals to join a group.

The event provides full support, including marquee rest stops with food and drinks approximately every 12.5 km, medical and massage teams, and a signed route with GPS tracking via a mobile app. A finish-line celebration includes a medal, a finisher's t-shirt, and a hot meal.
