North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge
The North Downs 50 is a supported trail challenge based at a Guildford basecamp with looped and point to point options on the North Downs Way and surrounding Surrey countryside. The event date is Sat 31 July 2027 and the main base is Loseley Park, Guildford.
Distances offered:
- 50 km loop from Loseley Park Guildford, ~830 m elevation
- 25 km loop from Loseley Park Guildford, ~530 m elevation
- ~24 km point to point from Guildford to Milton Court near Dorking, ~600 m elevation
- 10 km loop from Loseley Park Guildford, ~230 m elevation
Event services include covered rest stops roughly every 12.5 km with a meal at about every 25 km, hot drinks, water and energy drinks, and provisions for dietary requirements. Rest stops provide seating, toilets, medical areas, changing rooms and baggage pick up. Medical support includes doctors, paramedics, first aid, podiatrists and massage staff stationed at stops and roaming the route.
The route is waymarked with arrows and night markers and supported by GPS tracking via the event app; the timing system logs progress at rest stops. Options include an Ultra March category for brisk walkers and a Trailblazerz category for faster runners. Additional logistics noted are camping, shuttle transfers, parking and a Solo Start option.
