Dash & Splash - Shanklin

Shanklin, United Kingdom • 16 Aug 2025

Dash & Splash is a 5-kilometre fun run held along the scenic Sandown Bay on the Isle of Wight, starting at Shanklin Rowing Club and finishing at Yaverland near the Yaverland Sailing Club. The course features a unique route along the hard sand at low tide, navigating 43 groynes—most with wide gaps, while 14 require participants to splash through ankle-deep water, with two potentially waist-deep sections supervised by marshals. The event emphasizes enjoyment over competition and supports Aspire Ryde, a local community hub. The 2025 edition is sponsored by Choice Carpets and Shanklin Rotary Club, which provides medals for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
