Southampton MoRun at Southampton Common

MoRunning stages a series of chip timed races at Southampton Common with multiple distance options and on-site event facilities. The event hub is located in the field next to the playground, past the Hawthorns cafe, with toilets and a manned bag storage area. Parking is available in and around the park but is limited.

Distances offered:

  • 1.5k Mini MoRun with full race chip timing
  • 5k MoRun one lap with chip timing
  • 10k MoRun two laps with chip timing
  • Half marathon initial 1.1k loop then four full laps

Every entrant receives a finisher headband and a MoRun medal. Drink and snack provisions are available at the finish line and instant race results are provided via the timing system and published online. Bonus medals are awarded for categories such as best dressed and fastest Mo. Race numbers use chip on bib format and must be displayed on outer clothing for accurate timing and photography. Placings are based on gun time and net times are also provided.

The course mixes path and trail with some grass sections near the hub. It is undulating, dog friendly and generally suitable for buggy running though some sections can be bumpy or muddy. Marshals are positioned on course and participants should keep left unless directed otherwise. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
