Event overview
The New Forest Stinger is a scenic off-road trail race organised by Totton Running Club. The 2025 edition is a single 10 miles trail route that stays on approved trails and paths to comply with Forestry England regulations. The event is held at Ocknell Campsite, Fritham, Lyndhurst SO43 7HH, with a maximum of 250 entrants and a minimum age of 17 years.
Logistics and rules
Entry fees are: affiliated £21 and unattached £23. Included with entry are an exclusive medal, medical cover, free parking, a goody bag, water stations, toilets, and trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd plus age-category trophies for 40+, 50+ and 60+. Numbers are collected on the day and the start line is located 1 km from race headquarters. The course is unsuitable for standard wheelchairs, though the start and finish area is access friendly for supporters. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
The race is organised under UK Athletics rules on a Trail Running Association permit. Transfers are permitted up to 20 November 2025. There are no deferrals or refunds; if the event is cancelled, proceeds after costs will be donated to a local charity. The use of MP3 players is not permitted under UK Athletics rules; bone-conduction headphones are allowed. Photographic and video footage may be taken by authorised personnel.
