About the race
New Forest Stinger is a scenic off-road race through the New Forest, organised by Totton Running Club and held at Ocknell Campsite, Fritham, Lyndhurst SO43 7HH. The event features a 10 miles route, mainly on trail, described as undulating.
The race is organised under UK Athletics rules on a Trail Running Association permit (permit number tbc). Entrants must be at least 17 years old. Maximum field size is 301 and entries close on 19/11/2026. Entry categories and fees listed are: affiliated £22.50 and unattached £24.50. Entry fee includes an exclusive medal, medical cover, free parking, a goody bag, spot prizes, water stations, toilets, and trophies for 1st to 3rd plus age category winners 40+, 50+, 60+, and 70+.
Numbers are collected on the day from race headquarters; the start line is located about 1 km from race HQ. The course is unsuitable for standard wheelchairs, though the start and finish area is access friendly for supporters. Dogs are not permitted on course. The use of MP3 players and similar devices is not permitted on the course for safety; bone-conducting headphones are allowed. Transfers are permitted. No deferrals or refunds; if the race is cancelled any monies remaining after costs will be donated to the club charity. Photographic and video footage may be taken by authorised personnel.
