New Forest Xmas Trails

The New Forest Xmas Trails is a trail running festival organised by BigFeat Events on Sunday 6 December 2026 in the New Forest National Park. All distances use fully marked, one lap off‑road courses that start and finish at Holmesly Campsite in Bransgore (Forest Rd, Burley, Christchurch BH23 7EQ). The route passes heathland and woodland with winter terrain conditions possible.

Distances and prices

  • 15 km - £36
  • 30 km - £48
  • Marathon - £58
  • 50 km Ultramarathon - £70

Car parking is available free on hard standing at Holmesly Campsite. Runners collect race bibs from the registration tent at the start location; registration windows vary by distance. Bag drop tents for each distance are provided in the start/finish area.

Mandatory kit requirements include at least 500 ml of fluid for 30 km, marathon and 50 km entrants, a waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, buff, a foil blanket or orange survival bag, and a mobile phone. Organisers advise downloading the GPX file of the route to a watch or mobile device because course arrows can be tampered with. Canicross entries are not accepted.

Cut off times are set by distance: 15 km 3 hours, 30 km 5 hours, marathon 7 hours and 50 km 8 hours. Runners can opt to have a tree planted instead of receiving a finishers medal through the Trees Not Tees partnership. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
