Wight Lines
Wight Lines is a coastal running event held at Hurst Road, Milford on Sea. The route follows an out and back course along the coast with views of the Isle of Wight, The Needles and Sturt Pond Nature Reserve. The course is mixed terrain and organised as laps of 5.3 km (3.28 miles).
Participants may choose their own distance, from shorter runs up through ultra marathon distances. Number pick up is on the day at race registration. The event provides a themed soundtrack and an event medal with hip hop and Isle of Wight design influences.
An aid station at the start and finish of each lap supplies a range of sweet and savoury snacks and drinks. The event operates a cupless policy, so participants should bring their own drinking vessels. A bag drop is available at the race headquarters, identified by a pink gazebo. Public toilets are available at the start and finish area and on the route.
Local facilities near the event include a play park, cafes, beach access, a bird hide and historic Hurst Castle. Paid parking is available at the start and finish and public transport options serve the area; nearby train stations are New Milton and Lymington Town.
The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UKA rules. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
