Shepherds Skyline Fell Race

Todmorden, United Kingdom • 1 Nov 2025

Event details

The Shepherds Skyline Fell Race is scheduled for 1 November 2025 and is run as a Category ‘BS’ fell race. The course is 10 km long with about 350 m of ascent. Entry on the day is £5.00. The minimum age for entry is 16 and there will be no junior races in 2025. Results and race photos from many previous years are recorded on the organisers' pages.

Course, kit and facilities

The race uses a fast, muddy route that includes a steep descent off Stoodley Pike followed immediately by a stiff climb back up. Race headquarters is at the Shepherds Rest Inn on Lumbutts Road, Todmorden (postcode OL14 6JJ; grid reference GR945232 on OS South Pennines Leisure Sheet 21). Early arrivals may use the pub car parks; later arrivals will be directed to park on the road by marshals. Entrants are asked not to park in coned-off gap areas as these act as passing places for larger vehicles, and car-sharing is encouraged.

All competitors must carry the kit specified by the Race Organiser to meet FRA minimum requirements. Required items may include full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle. Jacket and overtrouser standards are specified and there will be kit checks at the start and finish. Failure to carry required kit will result in disqualification and may be reported to the FRA. The organiser states competitors should assess conditions and consider additional kit and experience before racing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
