Sharlie Shuffle Trail Run at Ponderosa State Park

The Sharlie Shuffle is a timed trail running event taking place at Ponderosa State Park in McCall, Idaho on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The event is a fundraiser; registration fees, donations, and proceeds support local trails and specifically Ponderosa State Park trails.

The course is looped and primarily single-track. Each full loop measures 4.79 miles and has approximately 640 feet of elevation gain. The terrain is varied and includes rolling and rocky trails, some double-track, boardwalks, stairs, and occasional pavement, with views of Payette Lake. A shorter 2.18 mile loop is available for use during the final two hours of the event.

  • 4.79-mile loop, about 640 feet gain per loop
  • 2.18-mile shorter loop available in final two hours

The event emphasizes low-impact practices: no paper products on course, locally sourced aid and prizes, handmade bibs and lap counting with star stickers, and an aim to minimize race-day trash. Campgrounds at Ponderosa State Park will be open and reservable; there is no overnight parking or car camping in the park outside the campground. Early June mountain weather is variable, with possible temperature swings and brief precipitation including occasional snow, so solid layers and waterproof clothing are recommended.
