Brundage Mountain Summit Cat Track 10K/5K
The event takes place at Brundage Mountain Resort in McCall, ID and offers two mountain running options.
- 10K Uphill ascent to summit, turnaround, return for total 6.2 miles.
- 5K Downhill from summit includes lift ride to start; 3.1 miles descent.
The Cat Track 10K sends runners uphill 3.1 miles, gaining 1,640" in elevation to the summit via the Cat Track, then returns the same route for a total of 6.2 miles. The course provides 360 degree views of Payette Lake & the McCall area, the Seven Devils Mountains, Granite Peak, Slab Butte and the Wallowa Mountain Range of Oregon. A black bear has been observed on past editions.
The downhill Cat Track 5K begins at the summit and descends 3.1 miles, dropping 1,640" along the same route. The 5K includes a lift ride to the summit start.
On-site amenities include live music, food and drinks available from Smokey's Bar & Grill inside the resort and on the plaza, and an aid station at the summit (mile 3.1) with cups and gel packets on a table. Volunteers will use pitchers to fill bottles or hydration packs rather than handling personal containers. Race entry includes a logo'd Brundage Mountain Cat Track item and a lift ticket for 10K entrants; 5K entry includes the lift ride to the start. No race day signups are accepted.
