Sasquatch Shuffle Trail Runs
The Sasquatch Shuffle is an annual trail running event at Ponderosa State Park in McCall, Idaho. The eighth edition takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, and operates as a fundraiser with proceeds directed to Ponderosa State Park and local Northwest trails.
Distances offered:
- 50K
- 30K
- 20K
The event uses a looped course. Each loop measures 6.79 miles and has about 640 feet of elevation gain. Terrain on the course is varied and includes rolling and rocky sections, flat stretches, flowy single-track, some double-track, and short segments of gravel and pavement. The route provides views of Payette Lake and passes through fall foliage with huckleberry, Rocky Mountain maple, aspen, and larches.
Race support emphasizes low impact and local sourcing. Aid stations feature homemade food and items from McCall-area businesses. Organizers aim to minimize waste by avoiding paper products and by targeting less than one bag of trash at the end of each race day. Handmade bibs and tokens are provided, and well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed to participate.
Options include an in-person event and a virtual option that runs October 1 through October 31. Nearby lodging includes campground sites on a first-come, first-serve basis and other off-season accommodations in the area. There is no overnight parking or car camping in the park outside designated campsites. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
