Sasquatch Shuffle Trail Runs

The Sasquatch Shuffle is a fundraising trail race held at Ponderosa State Park in McCall, Idaho on October 10, 2026. Proceeds from registration fees, donations, and other event funds outside of permit fees and aid are dedicated to local Northwest trails and to maintenance of Ponderosa State Park trails. A virtual option runs October 1–31.

The event is organized as loops. Each loop measures 6.79 miles and has roughly 640 feet of elevation gain. The course uses varied trail terrain, including rolling and rocky sections, flowy single-track, occasional double-track, some gravel, and short paved stretches. Runners will pass viewpoints of Payette Lake and fall foliage such as huckleberry, Rocky Mountain maple, aspen, and larch.

The race emphasizes low-impact practices. Organizers avoid paper products at aid stations, source aid and prizes from area businesses, and aim to produce minimal race-day trash. Course details and maps are intentionally kept low-key until race day. Dogs that are well behaved and leashed are mentioned as welcome by organizers. Nearby lodging and first-come, first-served campground options are available; there is no overnight parking outside designated campsites.
