Run Wild - Louisville
Run Wild is a trail event at Turkey Run Park in the Parklands of Floyd Fork, Louisville. It offers two course options and supports Second Chances Wildlife Center; proceeds and donations fund wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education programs, and related supplies and care.
The course is single track wooded trail that starts and ends by the Brown Forman Silo. The route includes roots and rocks, mostly in the first mile, and has an elevation change of about 600. If trails are too muddy, the event will use the paved path instead. A water stop is located at the midway point. The event is cup free to reduce waste and relies on reusable cups or bottles.
Participants receive a custom series medal and a long sleeve hoodie tech tee. Additional items such as car seat covers and buffs are available for purchase on race day. A photographer will be present and there will be postrace snacks and door prize drawings. Hidden raccoon figures along the course can be turned in for door prizes, one per person. Overall awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in the five mile race; the three mile option is a timed fun run without awards.
Packet pickup is available at Ken Combs Running Store and on race morning. Sponsors include local businesses and timing support is provided by a regional timing company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
