Run Wild - Louisville

Louisville, United States • 21 Jun 2026

Event Overview

The Run Wild event takes place at Turkey Run Park in the Parklands of Floyd Fork, Louisville. It supports the Second Chances Wildlife Center, a nonprofit providing environmental education and wildlife rehabilitation in the local area. Race proceeds help fund medicine, supplies, and care for animals.

Course Details

The course is run on wooded, single-track trails with an elevation of about 600 feet. It starts and ends near the Brown Forman Silo. The terrain includes some roots and rocks, primarily in the first mile. In case of heavy rain making the trails too muddy, the event will use a paved path instead.

There are two event options:

  • 5 Mile Run: This is a timed race with overall awards for the top three male and female runners, who receive gift certificates.
  • 3 Mile Fun Run: This is a timed run/walk, but no awards are given.

A water stop is located at the midway point. The event is cup-free, so participants are asked to bring their own reusable cup or water bottle.

Event Features

All runners receive a custom series medal and a long sleeve hoodie tech tee. There is a chance to meet an animal ambassador from Second Chances Wildlife Center. A photographer will be present, and snacks will be available at the finish line, with Kentucky Hop Water planned to be served. Door prizes are awarded via a drawing and a scavenger hunt where participants can find hidden raccoon figures along the course.

Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race and on race morning. On-site registration is available at a higher price. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
