Run Wild - Louisville
Run Wild is a trail running event at Turkey Run Park in the Parklands of Floyd Fork, Louisville, KY. The event offers two distances and supports Second Chances Wildlife Center, a nonprofit that provides environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation, and safe release of injured and orphaned animals. Race proceeds and additional donations fund medicines, cleaning supplies, vet visits, formula, and food for local wildlife.
Distances:
- 5 Miles timed race with overall awards for top three male and female finishers
- 3 Miles fun run, timed, no awards
The course is single track, wooded trail that starts and ends by the Brown Forman Silo. The course includes roots and rocks, mostly on the first mile, and an elevation of about 600. A water stop is located at the midway point. The event is cup free; participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or water bottle.
Participants receive a custom series medal and a long sleeve hoodie tech tee. Car seat covers are available for purchase on race day. There will be door prizes, a photographer on site, snacks provided by Second Chances volunteers, and a few hidden raccoon figures along the course that can be turned in for door prize entries (one per person). The five mile course requires maintaining an 18 minute per mile pace to finish before the cutoff. Standard online registration details list opening and closing dates and a base fee; higher registration fees apply for race day sign up.
