Lake Vista Lunatics Run

Lake Vista Lunatics Run is a trail endurance event held at Deam Lake State Recreation Area in Borden, IN on November 8, 2026. The event is organized around a marked loop called the Lap, with a single lap distance of 4.167 miles. The route features a summit with approximately 25% to 30% grade, creek crossings that can often be hopped, and some rooty and rocky technical sections near the top. Runners can take in a view from the top before descending the other side.

The event offers timed endurance formats and a short fun option. Runners complete repeated laps for the chosen duration, with lap starts structured to occur on the hour during the endurance formats. Fun Run entrants complete one lap. Total time for all laps is used to determine the fastest overall pace among runners who do not miss laps.

Runners are expected to bring their own nutrition, hydration, and crew support as needed. Organizers will provide limited electrolytes and nutrition as backup. Registration is limited to fewer than 50 spots before a wait list is used to control attendance. Finishers receive a medal and a Lake Vista baseball cap is included with registration. Prizes are awarded to top male and female endurance finishers and there are door and random prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
