About the race
Lake Vista Lunatics Run is an endurance and trail running event at Deam Lake SRA in Borden, IN on November 8, 2026. The event is organized around a marked loop called the "Lap" that is currently 4.167 miles in length; this loop was previously listed as a 5k.
The course includes a summit section with a steep pitch of about 25 to 30 percent grade, several creek crossings that can usually be hopped, occasional downed trees, and rooty and rocky technical terrain near the top. Runners pass a viewpoint at the summit and descend the far side of the loop.
Event formats:
- 12 hour endurance run
- 6 hour endurance run
- Fun Run of one lap
Endurance participants complete repeated laps over their chosen time block and return to the crew area/start between laps to top off water bottles and nutrition. Organizers provide some electrolytes and nutrition as backup. The event is not a last person standing format; total time for all laps is calculated and the fastest pace with no missed laps determines winners.
Prizes include a finisher medal, awards for top male and female endurance champions, and door or random prizes. Registration is limited to fewer than 50 spots before a wait list is used.
