Country Lake 5K
The Country Lake 5K is a 3.1 mile running, walking and jogging event held on October 24, 2026, at Country Lake Christian Retreat, 815 Country Lake Road, Underwood, IN 47177. The course winds around the lake and through wooded areas of the 200 acre property and combines trail and roadway sections.
Historically the course was about 75 percent rugged trail and 25 percent road; organizers adjusted the route to include more roadway and less rugged trail while retaining lake and forest scenery. The event uses staggered starts for different paces, with timing provided by Photo Finish Timing, LLC.
Registration opens on August 7, 2026, and closes on October 24, 2026. The registration fee is $25 and includes a t-shirt for registrations completed before October 11, 2026. A portion of proceeds supports local schools, clubs and athletic programs, and some registrations will be donated to FCA Coaches Ministry.
The race is scheduled the same day as Country Lake Community Day Fall Festival on the retreat grounds. Festival admission is free and activities listed for the day include zip line, paintball, axe throwing, volleyball, basketball, wagon rides, off-road jeep rides, music and food trucks offering cash and carry meals.
