The Rainow 5 is an established trail and fell race located in the village of Rainow, positioned on the edge of the Peak District. The event follows a hilly route that covers a distance of 5 miles (8 km). Participants navigate a course that includes 751 feet (229 m) of total ascent, crossing terrain that features White Nancy and the Kerridge ridge. The entire route is conducted on footpaths and is categorized as a BS race under Fell Runners Association (FRA) regulations.
The event is open to runners aged 16 and older. Registration is managed through a pre-entry system, and the race reaches capacity once the entry limit is met. Participants can collect their race numbers at the Rainow Village Institute on Stocks Lane. To support the local community and environment, organizers encourage car-sharing, with marshals on-site to direct vehicles to designated parking areas along the village streets.
