Rainow 5
Rainow, United Kingdom • 1 May 2024
The Rainow 5 is a small trail/fell race organized on the 1st Wednesday evening in May, attracting 250-300 runners who tackle a hilly 5-mile route around Rainow and Kerridge Ridge. The race is licensed under FRA and run under FRA rules, with low-key prizes for category winners to maximize donations of profits to local organizations and charities. The event has a history dating back to 1989, with proceeds from the race being donated to local charities. The route has evolved over the years, and the race also includes a 2-mile fun run for novice runners. Since 2015, profits have been donated to Buxton Mountain Rescue, the Rainow Institute, Rainow pre-school, and other local charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
