The Rainow 5 is a trail and fell race held from the village of Rainow on the edge of the Peak District. The course is a hilly five mile route on footpaths, with approximately 751 ft of ascent, and passes White Nancy and the Kerridge ridge (about 8 km; 229 m).
The event is classified as FRA category BS and is for participants aged 16 or older. Entry is by pre-entry only for this year, open until the race is full or until the closing date listed by the organiser. Entry fees differ for FRA members and non-members.
Post-event teas and cakes are served. All proceeds are donated to local charities around Rainow and to the local mountain rescue. Number collection takes place at Rainow Village Institute, Stocks Lane, Rainow, SK10 5XR.
