- 20 miles
All courses use the Peterson Ridge and Metolius-Windigo multi-use trails and include some dirt road sections. The 40-mile route is mostly trail with rolling quarters and about 2,700 feet of total elevation gain. The trail marathon follows the 40-mile course for most of its length and has about 1,600 feet of total gain. The 20-mile climbs gently in the first half, then descends, with about 1,200 feet of gain and ridge views of Central Oregon peaks.
Aid stations are provided approximately every 3–7 miles. The 40-mile will have five full aid stations and two limited stations; the marathon will have three full and two limited; the 20-mile will have four full aid stations. Drop bags are allowed at specified aid stations for the 40-mile. Crewing is restricted: crews are allowed only at certain aid stations for the 40-mile and marathon, and not allowed for the 20-mile.
Additional notes: the event is a fundraiser for Sisters High School Cross Country and donates to Sisters Trails Alliance. All finishers receive Rumble finisher socks. A 16-week Rumble-specific training plan is available as a paid add-on. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
