Run The Rock is a weekend of loop-style trail races held within Smith Rock State Park and the Crooked River National Grasslands near Terrebonne and Bend, Oregon. Courses traverse single-track trails, double-track and dirt roads, and pass notable features such as Misery Ridge, Monkey Face, Gray Butte, and views of the Cascade Range including Mt Hood and Mt Bachelor.
Distances offered:
- 50K - Loop course covering most park trails, includes Misery Ridge and Gray Butte, 5500 ft gain and 5500 ft loss.
- 25K - New for 2026, climbs Burma Road to Gray Butte, then returns to the park, 3300 ft gain and two aid stations.
- Half marathon - 13.1 miles with about 2500 ft of climbing and one full aid station.
Course surfaces and support are described: the 50K is roughly 85% single-track and 15% double-track and dirt road with four fully stocked aid stations; the half marathon is about 90% single-track. The event notes there are no transfers to other runners. Cancellations more than 30 days before the race are eligible for a 50% credit toward the same event next year; cancellations 30 days or less receive no credit or refund. If the organizer cancels and the event cannot be rescheduled, refunds or credits will not be issued. Registration closes Tue, Nov 3 at 11:59 PM PT.
