Run The Rock is a loop-style trail race held at Smith Rock State Park and the Crooked River National Grasslands near Bend, Oregon on November 7-8, 2026. Distances offered:
- 50K
- 25K (new for 2026)
- Half Marathon
The courses run through single-track trails, double track, and dirt roads and offer views of the Cascade Range from Mt Hood to Mt Bachelor. The 50K covers most park trails, including Misery Ridge and the area below the Monkey Face, and loops around Gray Butte. It records about 5000 ft of climbing and 5000 ft of descent, with 85 percent single-track and four fully stocked aid stations. The new 25K climbs Burma Road to a Gray Butte aid station, includes a summit section, and has about 3300 ft of elevation gain. The half marathon packs roughly 2500 ft of climbing into 13.1 miles, with about 90 percent single-track and one full aid station.
All participants must use off-site parking at DD Ranch where a free shuttle is provided. Pre-race coffee and a post-race burrito bar are part of race services. Finishers receive a custom award and the top three finishers in each gender category receive prizes. The event benefits the Ridgeview High School cross country team and is held under special use permits with federal and state land managers.
