River Falls

River Falls is a trail running event at Riverbend Park in Bend, Oregon on September 5, 2026. The event offers two race distances and uses trails along the Deschutes River and the Central Oregon Historic Canal Trail.

• 10K - uses the Central Oregon Historic Canal Trail and east side river trail.
• 5K - follows the west side Deschutes River Trail from Riverbend Park.

Both races begin and end at Riverbend Park. The course follows a wider, flowing trail on the west side before crossing a footbridge roughly 1.5 miles upstream. The 10K continues onto the Canal Trail with fast, runnable terrain and then reconnects with the east side where the trail becomes narrower and rockier along the river.

Registration fees are listed for specific date ranges: the 10K fee is $55 and the 5K fee is $45 for entries between June 5 and August 30; youth entries (17 and under) are $30 for any distance. Bib pickup is race morning only at Riverbend Park beginning at 7:30 AM. Backporch Coffee will be served at check in. Post-race food and drinks are provided for participants and volunteers. Every finisher receives a custom medal and the top three female, male, and non-binary finishers in each race receive prizes. The Ridgeview cross country and track team is the event beneficiary.

Trails are multi-use and remain open to other users during the event. Dogs are not permitted to run with participants. The event is cupless so runners should bring a cup or bottle for the aid station. Accommodations are available in Bend; nearest major airports are Redmond (RDM) and Portland (PDX).
