Bachelor Ascent
Bachelor Ascent is a trail running event held at Mt. Bachelor in the Deschutes National Forest, about 20 minutes west of Bend, Oregon. The event includes the following distances:
- 50K
- 28K
- 16K
- Vertical Ascent 5K
The three loop courses (50K, 28K, 16K) and the straight-up Vertical Ascent 5K each ascend to the 9000' summit of Mt. Bachelor. Registration fees vary by date: 50K $160–$185, 28K $125–$145, 16K $105–$125, Vertical Ascent 5K $70–$90. Race fees exclude applicable taxes, processing fees and optional add-ons such as shirts or hats.
Race services included with registration are a fully marked race course, staging venue and parking, chip timing and results, full service aid stations, medical support and communications, post-race food and beverages, custom finisher awards and professional photography. Podium winners receive awards; the top three women and top three men in each distance receive custom awards. A $10,000 prize purse is allocated to top finishers in the 50K; winners accepting prize money must provide required tax forms and comply with the event Clean Sport/Anti-Doping Policy.
Local lodging arrangements include a block of rooms with a downtown Bend partner and limited RV or car camping on the paved Mt. Bachelor parking area with an overnight use fee.
