Hoodoo Challenge: Run to the Top
The Hoodoo Challenge on July 25, 2026 is a trail running event organized around Hoodoo with two race distances. The half marathon returns for its tenth year and follows forested trails that lead to views from the top of Potato Hill. After reaching the summit, participants descend to a hosted lunch and awards ceremony at the Hoodoo Lodge parking area.
A separate 5K begins in the Hoodoo parking lot and finishes at the top of Hoodoo. Both courses are described as offering scenic views along trail terrain.
Event capacity is limited to 200 slots for the 5K and 200 slots for the half marathon. The first 50 registrations receive a Hoodoo Challenge neck gaiter. Same-day registration is not available. Packet pickup is provided on the day of the race. Overnight camping in the Hoodoo parking lot is permitted; a porta potty will be available. Dogs are allowed if well behaved and kept on leash. Lunch after the race is included in registration and will include vegetarian options.
Race proceeds support local kids and families, with $7,500 distributed to local families from the prior year. Event organizers also offer race apparel and gear for advance order. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
