Painted Horse Urban Ultra

Ocala, United States • 21 Feb 2026

Event overview

The Painted Horse Urban Ultra takes place in Ocala, FL on February 21, 2026. It is presented by the Where's the Finish? Podcast. The event is a low-key, self-supported urban adventure run that is navigation heavy and described as an adventure rather than a timed race. There is no official time limit. The organizer notes there may be some water drops and special treats, but participants should not expect full event support. A race book with turn-by-turn directions is available, and race day registration is offered. Registration closes on February 20, 2026.

Course, distances, and challenges

The course is a loop rather than point-to-point and uses a new route with more painted horses. Distances offered:

  • 55k
  • 25k

The 55k route passes about 40 painted horses placed around Marion County, with the largest concentration in Downtown Ocala. The 25k option follows a different route and sees at least 25 painted horses; the two routes intersect in some places. A multi-event challenge called the Painter's Revenge Challenge links this event with two other events. The full challenge requires completing 60k, 55k, and 30k events; the partial challenge uses shorter distance options. There is an extra charge for the challenge to cover awards.
