The Hot August Night Trail Race is scheduled for August 8, 2026, at Holder Mine Campground in Inverness, Florida (4399 Trail 10). The race is held on single-track trails in the Citrus Tract of the Withlacoochee Forest and is run after dark. Headlamps or flashlights are required. Every finisher receives a handcrafted medal.

Course and logistics

The course is marked with reflective pins and glow sticks and is entirely single-track. Trails are described as packed sand or covered with pine needles and include some gentle ups and downs. At the completion of each loop participants must cross the timing mat. Aid and support vary by loop: the 5-mile loop has an on-course hydration station (approx. 2.4 miles), a finish-line aid station, and a post-race picnic; the 10-mile loop has an on-course hydration and staffed aid station, a finish-line aid station, and a post-race picnic; the 20-mile event consists of two 10-mile loops.
