The Itch - Ocala, FL

The Itch is a point-to-point 50K trail race on the Florida National Scenic Trail Western Connector. The route starts at Lake Kerr Road / CR-316 and finishes at the Baseline Road Trailhead in Ocala, at Florida Greenway Baseline Road Park. The course runs through wilderness terrain and is described as rugged; aid is provided on the route and there is one designated drop bag location for runners without crew support.

Runners must download the official course GPX file and carry a phone during the event. There are no formal course markers; participants navigate by following the orange blazes on the Florida Trail and their GPX tracks. Transportation between start and finish is the responsibility of each runner; if there is sufficient interest the organizer may consider a shuttle from the finish to the start for uncrewed runners.

Aid station locations include Salt Springs Highway / CR 314 (MM 9.6), the drop bag location at NE 145th Ave Road (MM 17.1), and Marshall Swamp Trailhead / CR 314 (MM 26.2). The finish is listed at MM 31.1 at the Baseline Road Park. The event has a rollover credit option that provides 75 percent credit toward the following year when chosen within the stated window and requires re-registration the next year.
