Two Prairies Ultra : March 13, 2027
Two Prairies Ultra is a free, limited-entry trail event organized by Combat Racing Events at Pat's Island Trailhead in the Ocala National Forest, just outside Salt Springs, Florida. Participation is capped at 50 runners because parking is limited and the course runs through a wilderness area. Registration opens December 1, 2026. The event uses sections of the Florida Trail and passes through the Juniper and Hopkins Prairies in the Juniper Wilderness.

- 30K, runs the south half of the course
The 50K course is two out-and-back legs from the trailhead: a south leg of 8.8 miles each way to Juniper Springs Recreation Area (17.6 miles round trip) and a north leg of 7.25 miles each way (14.5 miles round trip). The route crosses older sections of the Florida Trail and passes areas noted for wildlife, rare plants, and historical features.
Policies and trail support
There is no registration fee. UltraSignup allows withdrawal up to seven days before the event without a Did Not Start (DNS). Runners who withdraw later should contact the race director. Two DNS results at Combat Racing free events can lead to ineligibility for future free events; exceptions are at the director’s discretion. Organizers suggest a minimum $25 donation per participant to support the Florida Trail Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
