Event overview

The Withlacoochee Trail Marathon takes place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Two Mile Prairie Tract - Bear Head Hammock Recreational Area in Hernando (Lecanto), Florida. The races are held on hiking and horse trails within the Two Mile Prairie Tract of the Withlacoochee Forest. Every registered runner receives a cotton t-shirt and a race bib. Every finisher receives a finisher award; the top three male and female finishers in each distance receive a handcrafted award.

Course services and logistics

There are three aid stations stocked with water, electrolyte sports drink, soda, pickles, chips, and PB&J. Aid stations are approximately every 5 miles, and each participant must carry a handheld, waist pack, or hydration pack. Bib pickup and on-site registration begin one hour before the race starts. The race organizer has reserved the equestrian campground at Bear Head Hammock for primitive camping; the campground has no water or power. Runners may set up tents, car camp, or boondock an RV using a generator on Saturday between 3 pm and 7 pm.

A1 Ultra Events does not offer refunds. Registered runners may choose a rollover credit equal to 75% of the entry fee toward the following year; this option is available until seven days before the race. Croom Zoom is a scenic trail run in Brooksville's Croom Park through oak hammocks and tree canopy, with 50K, 20 mile and 10 mile options. Entries cap at 250, so register by January 1, 2026 to secure your spot and chase a finisher award.

Run through Ocala in the Painted Horse Urban Ultra, an untimed urban adventure and scavenger hunt with 55k and 25k loop courses visiting dozens of painted horse installations. Navigation heavy and mostly self supported.

Run for the Springs is a community 5K trail run at Silver Springs State Park, featuring scenic forest trails and a family friendly atmosphere. Enjoy a kids area, refreshments and door prizes while supporting local septic grants.

Run single loop trails along the Withlacoochee River and through serene forest at the Long Play Trail Run in Brooksville. Choose from a 33.3 mile race, a half marathon or a 6K and earn a collectible vinyl record finisher award.
