North Leeds Skyline

North Leeds Skyline is a trail running event based at Station Top, East Chevin Road, Otley (opposite Wharfedale Farmers Market) LS21 3BD. The routes use public footpaths and trail terrain across the local area.

The event offers multiple routed options:

  • 50 km Ultra Trail : listed as 51 km / 30 miles, 1000 m ascent.
  • 25 km Super Trail : about 25 km / 15 miles, 650 m ascent.
  • 15 km Trail : about 16 km / 10 miles, 500 m ascent.
  • 50 km Ultra Relay for teams of 4 with legs of 10 km, 15 km, 16 km and 10 km.

Facilities at Race HQ include portaloos and bag storage. Parking is provided at Station Top, Otley. Entry requirements note that the 15 km requires no prior experience, the 25 km expects prior trail half marathon experience, and the 50 km expects ability to complete the distance within 8 hours.

Navigation is the participant’s responsibility. The course is marked with pink signage and tape where possible; all runners are required to carry the supplied route map and are advised to load GPX files onto a phone or watch. The event is not fully marshalled. Mandatory kit includes a water container, mobile phone or watch with the correct GPX file, the route map, a waterproof jacket or warm layer, and shoes suitable for off-road running. Tackle the Hameldon Quarry Race on 28 July 2026 in Hapton, Burnley, a lively 6.5 km trail with about 400 m of climb through Bowland terrain. Day entry only, low fees and team categories make it ideal for a spontaneous challenge.

Evening 5km and 10km races from Piglove By The River in Leeds, running along riverside trails and the Trans Pennine Trail, with toilets, bag storage and a post-race drink from Piglove Brewery. Entry limited to 150, minimum age 18.

The Lee Mill Fell Race opens the Mid-Week Series in Stubbylee Park, Bacup on 29 July 2026. The 10.7 km course features moorland climbs, a fast descent past Cowm Reservoir and a return through Lee Mill Quarry.
