North Leeds Skyline : event overview

The event is a trail running meeting based at Station Top, East Chevin Road, Otley (opposite Wharfedale Farmers Market) LS21 3BD, using public footpaths and off-road trails. Race headquarters, bag storage and parking are at Station Top; nearby toilets are a short walk into Otley.

Distances

• 51 km Ultra Trail, 1000 m elevation
• 25 km Super Trail, 650 m elevation
• 16 km Challenge Trail, 500 m elevation

The Ultra also runs as a four-person relay with legs of 10 km, 15 km, 16 km and 10 km. The Ultra course includes multiple manned checkpoints with water; snacks are supplied at Bank Top Farm and Shadwell. Ultra runners may leave a bag for transport to Bank Top Farm. Sprint and Super courses will have marshals on course; Ultra runners proceed between checkpoints.

Course navigation uses pink signage and pink tape, with colour-coded arrows for each distance (blue for Ultra, green for Super, yellow for Challenge; pink for all routes). A route map and gpx file will be provided in advance; entrants are required to carry the race map.

All races are cupless events: runners must carry a 500 ml water container. Mandatory kit for all races includes a route map, waterproof jacket or warm layer and shoes suitable for off-road running; Ultra entrants must also carry a mobile phone. Additional recommended items are listed by the organiser. Pacers are permitted but must not carry any competitor kit. Crew vehicle access at Bank Top Farm is restricted.
