Course and logistics
The course uses two roughly 5 km sections arranged like a figure 8, with the race hub and start/finish area in the center. Marathon and half-marathon distances use an add-on so each lap is 6.55 miles; the half is two laps and the full is four laps. One 5 km loop is mostly flat with technical spots, short climbs, ravines, and a bluff overlooking the San Gabriel River. The other 5 km loop mixes open pasture and flowy trail.
Course markings include caution tape, yellow arrows, confidence markers, and reflectors for low light. Basic aid station support is provided and runners can place personal supplies every 5 km. There is no drop bag service beyond the race hub. All races are chip timed with ankle straps. Pacers are not allowed. Awards: Top 3 overall plus Top 1 masters (50+) per distance. Camping is allowed Friday night on the nearside of the railroad tracks; spectators pay a ranch access fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
