Fields of Gold Trail Run
Fields of Gold is a trail running event at Shaffer Bend Recreation Area in Marble Falls, Texas. Courses run through rolling hills, meadow trails, wooded sections, and lakeside paths and are scheduled to coincide with peak autumn colors.
Available race options include:
- 50K
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 12-Hour Endurance challenge
- 60-minute Gold Hour endurance challenge
- 10K
- 5K and separate morning and night 5K options
The 12-hour event is scored by total miles covered and concludes with a designated short loop for the event’s final hour; any loop in progress after the final cutoff will not be recorded. The Gold Hour challenge is a timed 60-minute effort on a scenic four-mile out-and-back course.
Night running requirements are specified for safety and include a headlamp (required), a backup light source (recommended), reflective clothing, personal hydration, and a cell phone for emergencies. Aid stations and on-course support are provided, with seasonal items such as apple cider and pumpkin cookie bites noted.
All participants receive a harvest-themed finisher medal, a race shirt, and access to a post-race celebration. The event is organized by Fit Foundation volunteers, and after expenses remaining proceeds benefit HKRS Cedar Park youth running programs, supporting registration assistance, equipment, program expansion, volunteer training, and community outreach.
