Outlast Austin

Dripping Springs, United States • 15-16 Aug 2026

Event Format

OUTLAST is a six-hour endurance challenge. Runners attempt to complete a 5K trail loop every hour, on the hour. To remain in the event, each lap must be finished within the allotted hour. Participants who finish early wait until the next round begins. Missing a lap time cutoff results in elimination from the challenge.

Course and Conditions

The event is held on trail terrain, described as featuring natural dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation. Conditions can be unpredictable. A headlamp is required for this night edition.

Awards and Recognition

Participants receive recognition based on the number of laps completed within the six-hour window:

  • Four laps completed earns a "Grit Earned" patch.
  • Five laps completed earns a "Survivor" patch.
  • Completing all six laps earns a premium "OUTLAST" medal. All entrants receive a premium event t-shirt.

The top male and female finishers with the fastest combined time over six completed laps win a first-place award. All six-lap finishers are ranked on a national leaderboard. The overall fastest runner across all OUTLAST events wins a national championship title and a prize.
