Pechanga Trail Run

The Pechanga Trail Run takes place at Krause Springs in Spicewood, Texas, on a privately owned ranch in the Hill Country. The event name is derived from the Luiseño word for "the place where the water drips" and the Spanish word for "party." The course features single-track trails and participants have access to a swimming hole on the property.

The event offers several race distances:

  • 26.2 Mi
  • 13.1 Mi
  • 10k
  • 5k
  • Youth Run

The race utilizes both "Gun Time" and "Chip Time," with official awards based on the gun time. All finishers receive a medal, and awards are presented to the top three overall male and female runners, as well as the top Masters male and female in each category. This is a cupless event, requiring participants to bring their own hydration vessels or bottles.

Two fully serviced aid stations are located on the course: one at the start/finish line and one approximately at the halfway point. These stations provide water and various electrolyte and food options. The course remains open until 4 pm on Sunday, at which point any active participants are marked as DNF. Pacers are not permitted for this event.

On-site activities include a family and kids zone, food trucks, and games. Festival-style camping and RV sites are available at the venue via Krause Springs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
