Bluebonnet Trail Run
The Bluebonnet Trail Run is a multi-distance trail event at Turkey Bend Recreation Area in Marble Falls, set along Lake Travis shorelines with wooded paths and bluebonnet meadows. The event is managed by Fit Foundation volunteers and net proceeds support HKRS Cedar Park youth running programs, including equipment, registration assistance, and program development. Optional donations may also be made to HKRS Cedar Park. Routes are scheduled during peak bloom and may be adjusted for weather or to protect natural areas. All participants receive a custom finisher's medal.
Distances and formats include:
- 50-Mile Ultra
- 50K
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Half Marathon Ruck division
- 10K
- 5K
- Last One Standing Gauntlet
The Half Marathon Ruck uses the same trail as the half marathon but as a separate division. Minimum pack weight rules apply: 20 lb if under 150 lb, 30 lb if 150 lb or over. Ruckers weigh in before the start, carry dry weight that cannot shift, finish with the same weight, and are scored in their own division. Rucking counts toward Run the River mileage the same as running.
The Last One Standing Gauntlet is an escalating loop format that grows from shorter loops to 7 mile loops with increasingly demanding pace requirements, culminating in a Sole Survivor title for the final remaining competitor. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
