Mellow Trail Race takes place at Pace Bend Park on a peninsula into Lake Travis near Spicewood, Marble Falls, Bee Cave, and the Austin and San Antonio areas. The event lists multiple distances and a youth run.

The route uses a main 13.1 mi loop with a 5k shortcut. The marathon consists of two full 13.1 mi loops and the 10k is two 5k loops. Both courses run clockwise. Trails are twisty and alternate between hard packed surfaces, rocky sections, roots, and occasional climbs that open to lake views. The finish line is placed as close to the edge of Lake Travis as conditions allow, and shoreline changes can cause small variations in measured distances.

Course markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and confidence markers, with reflective elements for low light. The event is cupless so runners must provide their own cup or bottle; collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup. Staffed aid stations include a main start finish aid station and another staffed station; other stations will provide at minimum water, Tailwind, ice, and snacks. Drop bags may be self placed at the start finish area or at a 360 Bridge gate location but will not be delivered by organizers.

Chip timing uses ankle straps and both gun time and chip time are reported. The youth mile is untimed and awards are given for top overall and masters finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
