Mellow Trail Race

Mellow Trail Race takes place on September 12, 2026 at Pace Bend Park, Tournament Point on the Pace Bend peninsula of Lake Travis near Spicewood, Texas. Distances offered include:

• 13.1 mi
• 10k
• 5k
• youth 1 mi

The event uses a main 13.1 mile loop and a shorter 5k loop. The full 26.2 mile distance consists of two 13.1 mile loops; the 10k is two 5k laps. Both courses run clockwise. Trails traverse a peninsula with zero-entry shoreline on one side and rocky cliff-edge shore on the other. Surfaces include rocks, roots, and hard-packed tread with short elevation gains and occasional viewpoints over the lake.

Course wayfinding is marked with caution tape, arrows, and confidence markers so no map navigation is required. Aid stations include staffed Lake A.S. and Jack A.S. with drink and snack options; Road A.S. and Gate A.S. provide at minimum water, Tailwind, ice, and snacks. Runners on longer sections should be prepared to carry water across exposed granite stretches. The event is cupless; collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup.

Timing is chip based with ankle straps and mass starts are used by distance. Drop bags may be placed at the start/finish area and at the 360 Bridge Gate location; bags are not delivered or monitored. A youth 1 mile is untimed and awards a finisher medal. Overall awards include top three male and female and top masters male and female.
