Big Texas Ultra overview
The Big Texas Ultra is a two day endurance event held November 6–7, 2026 in Georgetown, Texas, on the Lake Georgetown Rim Trail. The event uses the Russell Park trailhead at 2101 Co Rd 262 as its central location and follows an out and back 15K route plus a 50K loop option that begins and ends at the same trailhead.
Course details note mixed surfaces including rocky trail, jeep road, and road sections. Recorded elevation gain is about 2,300 feet for the 50K loop and about 700 feet for the 15K out and back. The event operates as a no cup race, so participants are expected to bring their own water carrying system. Aid stations are provided and the course is fully marked and supported.
The event program includes awards and gear for finishers across distances, collectible finisher medals, a long sleeve shirt for all distances, ruck patches, and a 100K finisher silver belt buckle. The 100K Championship division offers cash prizes for top places in male and female categories and specific championship awards.
A ruck division applies specific weight rules: runners over 150 pounds carry 30 pounds and those under 150 pounds carry 20 pounds. Only the 100K competitors are required to carry a headlamp for their second 50K loop. The Big Texas Ultra is part of the Texas Ultra Series and offers qualification paths and series rewards.
