Big Texas Ultra - Georgetown TX
The Big Texas Ultra is a two day trail endurance event held November 6 and 7, 2026 on the Lake Georgetown Rim Trail. The event uses the Russell Park trailhead (2101 Co Rd 262, Georgetown, TX 78633) as the start and finish location.
Distances offered:
- Friday 15K out and back trail
- Saturday 15K, 50K, 100K and 15K ruck
Courses include an out and back 15K and a 50K loop. Surfaces mix rocky trail, jeep road and road sections. Reported elevation gain is about 700 feet for the 15K and about 2300 feet for the 50K loop. Historic average temperatures are listed in the 50 to 74 degree range. The event does not provide disposable cups so participants should bring a personal water carrying system.
Ruck requirements specify a 30 pound ruck for athletes over 150 pounds and a 20 pound ruck for athletes under 150 pounds; rucksacks or vests are allowed. Only 100K entrants are required to carry a headlamp for their second 50K loop. Pacers are permitted only for the 100K for the second 50K loop.
Awards and gear include a Big Texas Ultra finisher medal and long sleeve for all distances, a 50K inscription on the medal, a 100K silver buckle for non competitive finishers, and a golden buckle plus prize money for the 100K championship division. The event is part of the Texas Ultra Series where race finisher medals combine to form a map of Texas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
