Course, logistics, and donations

All distances use wide, 100% dirt trails. The course is not a road race and features leaves, rocks, roots, and changing inclines; participants should expect uneven footing. The event is pet-friendly when dogs are leashed and handlers clean up after them. Strollers are allowed at the participant's discretion; uneven terrain may make stroller passage challenging. Children may participate with parent or guardian supervision. Races take place at the Hippo Social Club (3250 Limmer Loop #5); parking is available at Christ the Rock.

The event collects new pajamas for The Pajama Program, accepting boys and girls sizes youth small through youth XL; donations will be accepted through Thanksgiving morning. Proceeds will support development, beautification, and maintenance of the Hippo Trails greenspace. The event operates rain or shine and the policy states no refunds.
