Little Oregon Trail Run
The Little Oregon Trail Run is a multi-distance off-road event held in the South Mastick Picnic Area of the Cleveland Metroparks in Ohio. The event takes its name from a specific single-track section of the course characterized by rows of pine trees. All race distances are chip-timed on trail terrain.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 13K Trail Race - A trail run covering a distance of approximately 7.5 to 8.2 miles.
- 5K Hike/Run - A 3.1-mile course for runners or walkers.
- 13K Ruck - A 7.5-mile rucking event that includes a patch for participants.
- 5K Ruck - A 3.1-mile rucking event that includes a patch.
- Kid's Fun Run - A short distance race ranging from 0.25 to 0.5 miles.
The starting line is located just south of the South Mastick Picnic Area. Parking is available at the picnic area, which is a short walk from the race start. Participants receive a fleece hoodie or fleece crewneck based on registration timing, along with a sticker. Children in the fun run receive a sticker and a cookie upon completion.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the 13K and 5K trail races. Age group prizes are also awarded to the top finishers in ten-year age brackets. The ruck portion includes a competitive division with specific awards for top male and female finishers. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at a local running store in Lakewood and on the morning of the race at the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
