Burning River Endurance Runs & Relay (July 25-26, 2026)
The 20th annual Burning River Endurance Runs & Relay takes place in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The event offers solo and team options that travel through Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Summit Metro Parks. The official race hub is the Sheraton Suites Akron Cuyahoga Falls, 1989 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls. The 100-mile race is part of the Midwest Grand Slam of Ultrarunning and serves as a Western States Endurance Run qualifier (lottery); Western States requests a finish within 30 hours for qualification. Donations benefit the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Summit Metro Parks Foundation, and Boston Township.
Courses
- 100M : Out-and-back Cuyahoga Falls to Silver Springs Park; approx. 8000 ft elevation; 30/32 hour cutoffs.
- 50M : Point-to-point Cuyahoga Falls to Silver Springs Park; approx. 4000 ft elevation; 15 hour cutoff.
- Back Half 50M : Point-to-point Silver Springs Park to Cuyahoga Falls; 18 hour cutoff.
- Marathon : Point-to-point Oak Hill to Silver Springs Park; approx. 2000 ft elevation; 12/14 hour cutoffs.
- 8 Person Relay : Out-and-back on the 100M course; 27 hour cutoff.
Entry, swag, awards and fundraising
Base registration (through December) lists fees of $270 (100M), $160 (50M/Back Half 50M), $95 (Marathon), and $80 (per person 8P Relay). All participants receive a race sticker and event poster plus one swag choice: a 36oz stainless water bottle, official race tee, or a Patagonia long-sleeve Capilene shirt available as a $35 premium. Awards include top 3 overall male and female and 5-year age-group awards for the 100M, 50M and Marathon; relay awards are given by team category. Fundraising options allow participants to waive the registration fee by meeting published fundraising minimums for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
