Event Format

The 24 Hour Lions Roar is a timed running event with several race durations: 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour options. There is also a 24 Hour Tag Team Championship.

The Course

The event takes place on a loop course at Gans Creek Recreation Area in Columbia, Missouri. The loop is 2.5 miles long and includes part of the D1 NCAA Cross Country Championship Course.

Charity

A portion of the proceeds from the event benefits Pascale's Pals. This is a local volunteer organization that supports children and families at the Children's Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Additional Event

A separate fun run for children is also held. The 1 Hour Cub Run is for participants 14 years old and younger and uses a 0.25-mile loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

The Great Sandbagger 8K features a unique race format based on predicted finish times. Runners start in staggered order, and the first to cross the line wins a traveling trophy. The certified 8K course starts at the McBaine Katy Trailhead.

Rock Bridge Revenge is a trail running event on October 17, 2026, at Rock Bridge State Park. It features 50K and 25K distances on single track trails with creek crossings. Chip timing, aid stations, and a post race lunch are provided.

The Flat Branch Ultra is a USATF certified 50K on the rails to trails paths of Columbia, Missouri. The point to point course passes a historic 400 year old Bur Oak tree. Only 125 spots are available for this event.
