The 24 Hour Lions Roar : April 17-18, 2026
The 24 Hour Lions Roar is a multi-duration ultrarunning event held in Columbia, Missouri, at Gans Creek Recreation Area on April 17-18, 2026. The event includes individual and team formats, including a newly added 24 Hour Tag Team Championship. A portion of event proceeds benefits Pascale’s Pals, a local volunteer organization that supports children and families staying at the Children’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Events take place across the two calendar days and conclude on April 18.
Course and format
The main race uses a 2.5 mile loop that incorporates the D1 NCAA Cross Country Championship Course at Gans Creek and adjacent soccer fields. The loop is laid out for repeated laps and supports both solo runners and relay teams. A youth event, the 1 Hour Cub Run, is held on a 0.25 mile loop for children 14 years old and younger.

Awards and recognition
Solo awards are given to the top two male and female finishers in the 6, 12, and 24-hour events. All-Time Mileage awards recognize the top three men and women with the most lifetime Lions Roar miles. Tag Team champions receive a custom championship belt. Mileage milestone items include a custom belt buckle for completing 100 miles in 24 hours and commemorative t-shirts for 100 miles, 100K, 50 miles, or 50K achievements.
