Flat Branch Ultra - Columbia, Missouri

The Flat Branch Ultra is a USATF-certified 50K rails-to-trails race in Columbia, Missouri, held on February 20, 2027. The race starts and finishes at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at 800 West Stadium Blvd and follows the MKT Trail to the Katy Trail in an out-and-back format along the Missouri River and beneath bluffs.

The course passes an approximately 400-year-old Bur Oak about 8.5 miles in and includes an aid station at that location. Other aid stations are located at the start/finish, Scott Boulevard, and a Halfway Home station just east of Rocheport. Drop bags left at the start are transported to the Halfway Home station and returned to the finish. All competitors must check in at the Halfway Home station by calling out their bib number and last name; failure to check in may result in disqualification.

Field size is limited to 125 entries. Cash awards of $500 will be given to the overall male and overall female winners, and finisher awards plus top three overall awards are presented at the finish. Packet pickup is race day only at the start/finish and a USATF waiver must be signed at pickup. Photographs taken on course and at the finish are provided at no charge. The event does not offer refunds for cancellations or postponements outside the organizer's control. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
