Flat Branch Ultra is a 50K rails-to-trails out and back held in Columbia, Missouri on February 21, 2026. The course begins and ends at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park (800 West Stadium Blvd) and follows the MKT Trail for about 7.5 miles before joining the Katy Trail west of McBaine. Runners proceed west toward Rocheport and return on the same route.
The course passes a nearly 400-year-old Bur Oak at about 8.5 miles and offers views of the Missouri River and riverside bluffs; the Halfway Home aid station is located just east of Rocheport past the I-70 bridge (mile 15.5). Aid stations are positioned at the start/finish, Scott Blvd, Bur Oak, and Halfway Home; drop bags left at the start/finish are transported to the Halfway Home aid station and returned after the turnaround. Competitors must check in at the Halfway Home aid station by noon and must be off the course before dark.
In 2026 the Flat Branch Ultra course will become USATF certified. The event offers finisher awards and top three overall male and female awards; awards must be accepted in person. Packet pickup is held at the start/finish on race day. The field is limited to 125 entrants.
