Flat Branch Ultra
Flat Branch Ultra is a trail event in Columbia, Missouri, offering two distances: a 50K and a 25K. The 50K course is USATF certified and follows rails to trails segments, running along the Missouri River and beneath bluffs before returning to the start. The route begins at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at 800 West Stadium Blvd and is an out and back that passes an approximately 400‑year‑old Bur Oak near mile 8.5.

Aid stations are positioned along the course with drop bag support for 50K runners. Key aid points for the 50K include the start/finish aid station, Scott Blvd, Bur Oak, and Halfway Home at mile 15.5. Drop bags placed at the start are moved to Halfway Home and returned after the turnaround. Competitors must check in at turnaround points by announcing bib number and last name. 50K runners must reach the Halfway Home aid station by noon and all competitors must be off course before dark.
Packet pickup is race day only at the start/finish location; signing a USATF waiver is required. Dogs are permitted if handlers start at the back of the field; runners who finish with dogs are eligible for a finisher award but not eligible for state records or overall awards. The 50K awards include cash prizes for the overall male and female winners. The event has a no refund policy for cancellations outside organizer control.
