Flat Branch Ultra : Columbia, Missouri

Flat Branch Ultra is a USATF certified 50K rails to trails out and back held in Columbia, Missouri. The race starts and finishes at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at 800 West Stadium Blvd and follows the MKT Trail to the Katy Trail, running along the Missouri River and beneath bluffs. The route passes a nearly 400 year old Bur Oak at about 8.5 miles.

The event limits the field to 125 entries and offers $500 cash awards to the overall male and female winners. In 2026 the course became USATF certified and that year several Missouri state records were set, including new overall 50K state records for men and women.

Aid stations and drop bag service are provided at designated locations with mile markers: Start/Finish (mile 0 and mile 31), Scott Blvd (miles 3.25 and 25.5), Bur Oak (miles 8.5 and 20.5), and Halfway Home (mile 15.5). Drop bags left at the start will be moved to the Halfway Home aid station and returned to the finish after the turnaround. All competitors must check in at the Halfway Home aid station and reach it by 12:00 p.m. Competitors must be off the course before dark.

Packet pickup is race day only at the start area. No refunds are offered for cancellations or postponements outside the organizer's control. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
