Lewis Burn Trail Run

The Lewis Burn Trail Run is a night trail race held in Kielder Forest on 24 January 2026. It is Race 4 of the Shadowlands Race Series and covers 10 km with 246 m of elevation.

The route uses forest tracks and mountain bike trails and follows the Lewis Burn mountain bike trail. The course is undulating with small, testing climbs. The route starts from Bakethin car park, runs parallel to the Lewis Burn to the far end of the course, then tackles the steep zig zags of Simons Tester before a long descent back to the finish. As the shortest event in the series, it is expected to be the fastest.

Entries open 26 October 2025 and close 19 January 2026. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees are listed as UKA members £28 and non-members £30, plus a booking fee. The entry fee includes a £4 Forestry England charge and a £2 fee applies for participants without UKA membership. The event is held under TRA and UKA rules.

Prizes are awarded on the night and competitors can earn points toward the series overall presentation, scheduled at Pedalling Squares cafe on 21 February 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
