The Ad Gefrin Trail Race

The Ad Gefrin Trail Race is a trail running event located in Northumberland. Organized by Cheviot Trail Events, the race follows a point to point route covering a distance of 8 miles. The course is fully marked for participants and features a mix of hill climbs and fast, runnable sections.

The event logistics involve a coach transport for runners from the meeting point to the official race start. Once the race begins, participants will ascend the Yeavering Bell Hill. After the initial climb, the route descends to join the St Cuthbert's Way, which leads the field back toward Wooler. The race concludes at the Ad Gefrin whisky distillery, which serves as the location for registration, the start, and the finish.

Participants are required to carry kit that is appropriate for the prevailing weather conditions. The route is designed to provide views of the surrounding landscape as it moves from the hills toward the distillery.

The race has the following distance available:

  • 8 miles

Please note that dogs are not permitted to accompany runners on the course. Registration takes place at the distillery before the scheduled coach departure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
