The Charmian Interest Link Challenge 2026

The Charmian Interest Link Challenge takes place in the town of Selkirk, utilizing the grounds of The Haining. This annual event serves to celebrate the life of Charmian Ledsham and supports the work of Interest Link, an organization dedicated to individuals with learning disabilities. Participants can choose between different formats depending on their preference for a trail environment or a loch-side route.

The event offers several distance options:

  • 5 km Trail Run
  • 2 km Fun Walk
  • 4 km Fun Walk

The 5 km trail run follows a route over rough paths, while the 2 km and 4 km walks circle the loch. The walking routes are designed to be accessible and take in the surrounding countryside and water views. All routes are signposted and staffed by marshals to guide participants through the course.

Facilities on-site include accessible toilets and water bottle refill stations. Refreshments are provided for attendees, and all participants receive a biscuit medal upon completion. While on-site parking is limited, alternative parking is available at the West Port Car Park in the Selkirk Square, which is connected to the venue by a walking path. Supplemental activities at the venue include a tombola and the sale of branded apparel.

Registration is available in advance or on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
