Knacker Cracker
The Knacker Cracker is a trail running event held at Box Hill in Surrey. The main race follows a specific 10 km route that features significant elevation changes, including an ascent of 473 m and a descent of 335 m. The course primarily uses rough tracks and offers views over the North Downs, the Mole Gap, Denbies Vineyard, and Dorking.
The current route uses the old military road and ascends through the bottom of Happy Valley. Due to the nature of the terrain, North Downs tracks can be uneven. In the event that Box Hill is unavailable, an alternative "B" course is conducted around Denbies Vineyard. Participants are not permitted to use earphones or headphones during the race. For those who enter before the December 1st production deadline, names are included on the event t-shirts.
Available distances and categories:
- 10 km Knacker Cracker (Men's race)
- 10 km Knicker Knacker (Ladies' race)
- Nipper Knacker (Kids' fun run)
The event village, including registration and parking, is located at Denbies Wine Estate. The race start is positioned at the bottom of Box Hill, while the finish line is located at the top. Participants must walk back to the parking area at Denbies after completing the race. The location is accessible by rail, with Dorking main station and Dorking Deepdene station situated approximately 1 km from the registration area.
