Knacker Cracker

Dorking, United Kingdom • 1 Jan 2026

Event overview

Knacker Cracker is a trail running event scheduled for 1 January 2026. The course distance is exactly 10.000 km with total ascent of 473 m and total descent of 335 m. Registration and parking are at Denbies Vineyard, London Road, Dorking RH5 6AA. The race starts at the bottom of Box Hill and finishes at Box Hill Fort, at the top of Box Hill.

Course and logistics

The route runs mostly on rough tracks and includes multiple steep ascents and descents. From 2025 the route uses the old military road instead of the Burford Spur slope and no longer goes up to Juniper Top; it now rises via the bottom of Happy Valley. If Box Hill cannot be used, an alternative "B" course around Denbies Vineyard will be used. A water station is provided at 6 km. Bags and keys left at the start are transported to the finish for collection.

Entry and rules

Entry fees are shown in the listing as between £40 and £45. Entries after 8 pm on 1 December will not have names printed on the race shirts. Earphones and headphones are not allowed on the course. Spikes or studs are prohibited; trail shoes with good grip are recommended. A concurrent children’s fun run, the Nipper Knacker, runs alongside the main event. Marshals are required for several duties and are scheduled to assist on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
