Kirkstall Calverley Cutter and Kirkstall Bridge 10km

Great Owl Running stages two races on 24 January 2026 with race HQ at Kirkstall Bridge Inn, 12 Bridge Rd, Leeds LS5 3BW. The main event is the Kirkstall Calverley Cutter, a roughly 16 kilometre multi terrain trail and road hybrid that follows the Leeds Liverpool Canal, the River Aire and passes through Calverley Cutting. The secondary event is the Kirkstall Bridge 10km, an approximate 10 kilometre canal out and back.

Distances:

  • ~16 kilometres; multi terrain; undulating; elevation approximately 200 m
  • ~10 kilometres; canal towpath out and back; elevation approximately 60 m

The course will be part marked and marshalled at key points, and entrants receive a route map or description. The event operates a cupless policy; runners must carry a water container. A windproof or waterproof jacket and warm clothing are mandatory. Facilities at the race HQ include toilets and bag storage. Water is provided at refill stations, with cups available at the 10 km turnaround only. Parking near the pub is limited due to works on the River Aire; on-street parking is available nearby. Entry fees vary, with examples in source information ranging from £18.00 to £35.00. The event is open to entrants aged 18 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
