JW Corbett Trail Races

The event takes place in the JW Corbett Wildlife Management Area near Loxahatchee, FL and uses the Ocean to Lake Trail system. Courses are marked with orange blazes for navigation. Distances offered include:

  • 50K
  • 18 Miler

Entry into the race requires membership in the JW Corbett Running Club; entering the race constitutes that membership. Membership entry fees are directed to the Florida Trail Association Loxahatchee Chapter after administrative fees are paid.

The courses run on technical single track through remote, largely undisturbed Florida wilderness. Terrain includes wet prairies, cypress strands, hardwood hammocks, open meadows and pine flatwoods. Trails can be rugged and possibly wet. Participants should expect abundant wildlife and seasonal wildflowers along the route. A 13 hour cutoff applies to all runners. Event materials describe the race as low cost and old school in format. Runners who register after 3/25/2024 are not guaranteed a shirt in their size. Registration closes on Sat, Apr 4. A 14.3 mile loop through the 3,004 acre Hungryland Slough near West Palm Beach. Options include a 6 hour single-loop race or a 33 hour multi-loop event with a 100 mile recognition for seven loops.

A fundraiser 5K in Jupiter, Florida through the North Jupiter Flatwoods Natural Area, featuring a sensory-friendly obstacle course, a post-race expo, and a virtual option.

Trail races at Jonathan Dickinson State Park including a 50K a 13.1 and a kids fun run across dunes wetlands and varied trail communities. Entries for the longer races are limited and the organizer lists a no refund no transfer policy.

A point-to-point 100K trail race on May 30, 2026 from the NENA trailhead in Port Mayaka to Hobe Sound beach, crossing varied Florida ecosystems. Crews are required and the event enforces an 18 hour time limit.
