Registration opens May 12, 2026. The event listing shows 275 spots remaining. Packet pickup is same-day only; there is no preregistration packet pickup.

Course and logistics

The course is an out-and-back with a lollipop loop and will be heavily marked with reflective arrows and wrong-way signs. FLASHLIGHTS or headlamps are required on course. Safety measures include water aid stations, experienced trail-running volunteers, and medical staff. The trail surface is mostly flat dirt with some sand and roots in the Pine Wood Forest section. The route begins on double-track, includes some single-track sections, and crosses two bridges. Portions of the course can be wet depending on rainfall.

Awards are planned for the top five male and female finishers. A costume contest will award prizes to the top three costumes; the first-place costume receives free entry to the Dunes 2026 event. All participants receive a park entry pass, a finisher medal, a custom T-shirt, and pre- and post-event food and drinks. The event description notes on-site refreshments, beer, and music after the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
